SYW 11-24-25

Here are this week’s questions:

1.   Do you have a keepsake box (where you retain special cards, pictures, letters, things that are special to you)? I have a file folder and a very old box.

2.  What has made you smile lately? Today I had the great grandma privilege of watching my grandson roll over, ready to crawl.

3.  Are you a morning person or a night owl? Both. If the sun is shining, I’m ready to get up. I often stay up late.

4.  Do you prefer to be hosts or guests at a dinner party or family event? I used to host many family gatherings and loved it. The last years I have only done it a couple of times. I seem to be shrinking into the chair, so preparing things is difficult.

Gratitude: I am very grateful and happy the family will be together this Thanksgiving. I wish you all a happy day.🤗

What’s this mess on this plate

You call this a feast?

It looks more like a food plate

For a wild beast!

I prefer the more delicate version

Possibly a vegetarian dispersion

Where each separate vision

Can enlighten concision

And make a decision

With expert precision.

Monday Poetry Prompt: Feast

The Sunday Whirl

A stiff stick with thorns is all that’s left of the beautiful blushing rose bush, a garden beauty. A wee chirping can be heard as a bluebird stops to rest on the bare branches. Coming out for a moment to the garden, I lazily fit myself in the Adirondack chair I painted pink to match the thistle plant. I love the Scottish symbol flower and never cut it down as many gardeners do. I consider it a summer treat to enjoy on warmer days.

Where was the vision of compatriots
Men and women in congress slots
Where was their eye when they voted
What did they see or were wrongly devoted
Where was the vision of people in judge seats
Who ignored crimes done in repeat
Where were the thoughts of lazy minders
Asked to get votes or illegally “find them”
Where are the rules we visioned and fought for?

Esther’s Writing Prompt – Save

Save us from this calamity

Who speaks with hilarity

Take his presence from the post

Give him what he wants most

An audience of sycophants

Who gladly do the “yes” dance

The crowds of weak and spineless men

Who choose not to remember when

These tactics caused a world at war

Just who was he elected for?

He needs a golden mirror image

Never plays to the right homage –

For the people, not for him

He treats his job as just a whim

Money and gold he piles and skims

Send him on a golden boat

To a castle with a high moat

So high he cannot escape

Remove his phone and audio tapes

Let us breathe free air again

Bring back our country’s freedom reign.
