I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. I am happy to read all of your blogs and learn more about you. Please comment however you like, ask whatever, and I'll answer honestly. Thanks for reading! Cheryl

1.  Do you enjoy shopping? (food, clothes, shoes etc). I used to but now relying on delivery is hit and Miss😳🙄🤯

2.  What is something you used to buy often but either buy less or no longer buy at all? Salty snacks😢

3.  Food shopping only: do you prefer to shop in person or on-line? In person.

4.  Do you use charity shops (I believe this is Goodwill for my American readers), car boot sales or village hall / church hall sales (which I remember as jumble sales). I used to. As I usually answer, free transportation is difficult.

Gratitude: I am grateful for the friendships I have developed here at the apartment complex. And reunited correspondence with a blogger who no longer writes here.

Sara was worried about the cake. All the stirring, churning the butter sugar mixture, separating the dough into different colors, so much work in making it! The waves constant flow caused a strand of bees to adventure near to the spot she placed the cake. A sudden buzz of wasp strays came closer and she nervously ducked down. It was a mistake to come aboard so early to set up the birthday surprise. The sun was getting too hot and the bees loved the scent of sweet cake.

You know George, that cane could collapse on you, where’s your walker?

They don’t let walkers on the bus, Shirley. Did you know that is one reason I’m leaving this apartment! Road trips are great and just because you need a walker or a wheelchair doesn’t mean you don’t want to go on these trips! Everyone needs to be able to get out and travel a bit. When I bought this home/apartment, it was in the contract but now they’ve changed. They even closed off the community room where many of my friends gathered for coffee. Now it’s an empty space.

Everything trickles down from the Trump cutbacks, George.
