Just Jot it January??

I am touched when on a whim I read comments on old blog posts. They are ones suggested because they might relate to the current post and most which I’ve forgotten over time. It is a pleasure to see and feel that presence. My readership is always kind, makes me smile even if we disagree and over all lights up my days. I love the photos, stories, poems, all of the efforts made by you all, and prompters, the work and time put in to administer to us as bloggers. I blog and honestly put forth my bits of writing because it stretches my memory and mind. At my age I need to keep busy, speaking out as I feel to closed minds. We all need to use our voices for change.

What do you see # 321- 29 December 2025

Martha, I think you’ve gained more weight
A pound or two more and a broken branch our fate
Don’t be silly, Gertie, it’s the holidays
It’s been decided – no more weighs
On the contrary, Ethel, since you’re the skinniest one
You’d love the weigh in, thinking it fun!
All three chicks ate too much last year
The farmer’s axe loomed too near
As he walked by and said hello
The three scrunched together so he wouldn’t know
Who was the fattest or who the least
But he had a rabbit in his hand for the feast.

He left a bouquet at her door
Serenaded her with amore
Her on the window
Strong gusting winds blow
Lands on him now both are no more.

Cat’s paws always under the door
Stretching out so you can’t ignore
It realized too late
Someone opened that gate
Now he’s two paws short on the floor.

Laughing Along With A Limerick

fateful flight
a life’s suffering
disaster
–
subdued end gray scene
cold icy sands surrounding
destruction remains
shown a bleak country, ice trail
calamitous mournful site

At a full point, the Shepard was trained to sit and place his paws in an oddly human cross, and the crowd felt a sense of pride. The military families, eyed the sharply dressed men and women of MWD, Military Working Dog division of handlers. Instead of petting the serious dogs, they were enjoying lingering around to watch some of the training movements they learned.

Joe stood on the very edge. His wife Clara hung onto the back of his shirt. Leaning over as much as he dared, he yelled. “I want to hear your echo!” Hearing no response, finally stepping closer to the cliff edge and yelling it again…
“Step back from the edge before you fall, idiot!”

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Prompt Word!

Of course I have to respond with a snarky comment here,
just a thought to be thorough, dear,
battling my brain
to refrain
from moving through,
down the drain,
our lovely leader, another complaint.
His mouth is caustic,
needs a diagnostic,
not dr oz,
who’s only cause
is to maintain his position
in this administration.
