Folsom Prison Blues

Wouldn’t it be loverly
Wouldn’t it be gay
To lounge around in a great big chair?
Sure you say, any day, it would be my way…
The rubber ducky life…
Scooting and floating carefree
Always sunny, always warm
Not hearing the buzz of dangerous swarms
The cries of brown or black skins
Where is their chance to float or swim
On a sunny day, peaceful and prim
Never to feel that frightening so grim
Wouldn’t it be loverly?

Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 01/13/2026

Iced Danger
Frozen fingers and toes
Yet I pull the sled
The rope also frozen, but I lost my way
I know this road
Follow it and get myself home.
That’s what my mind tells me
It’s hard to concentrate
Perhaps my brain is frozen too
Clap my hands together
Stomp my feet
Too far ahead I see my two friends
I just need to keep moving.
Never again will I venture down an unknown hillside
It was so fast, I had so much fun, but now
I fear if I lose sight of my friends I won’t make it
I want my warm bed, my warm blankets
I will just sit here a while
It seems warmer than walking
I’ll wait for them to find me
Joey? Mikey?….

What do you see # 323- 12 January, 2026

Smile, world smiles with you
Nice thought but highly untrue
Walk through a crowd
Wearing a smile, proud
And you’ll probably be thought a fool.
Today, scowls seen more present
A smile promotes a resent
What do you have to be so happy about?

Quadrille #239: Smile!

Come in and enjoy the pond
You see I won’t move any more
I’ll stay right on the shore
Of humans I’ve grown quite fond.

Easy day…who prefers chewy brownies over cake brownies? I like fudgy chewy best.

Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 12th, 2026

Life isn’t easy on a farm
For instance, I fell, broke my arm
The cow had such a kick
Milking no easy trick
She mooed loud but caused no alarm.

Laughing Along With A Limerick

The cherished dark wood finally dusted, a beam of sunlight streamed showing the beautiful grain and workmanship of the piece. Sue felt on top of the world at this moment. Thoughts of the final insult her mother spat out before she left lingered, but Sue did as always after her mother’s confrontations came, clean! This chore was duplicated right after every visit her mother made. It was reminiscent of her childhood and after years of this, it seemed nothing was going to change. Sue fought it the only way she knew how.

Share Your World: 12th January 2026

I thought I knew
Used all the clues
Easy as black ink and blue
But then she ran
The tattoo plan
Was in the can
I guess it was she who knew
I really had no clue
My work would fail
Turn way too pale
So she decided to bail.
