Double chins formed a fleshy moat
Skin was spread so wide
Eyes couldn’t deny
When bathing, he might start to float!

Laughing Along With A Limerick

Pieces of beings held in memory, the bliss of arms holding me tight, particles of breath felt on my neck; even heartache can be a form of pleasure. The feelings sometimes called a thunder of emotion, causing a leaping of my heart, are all explained in a story of passion. Everyone needs a form of this story.

Lucky Dip – Saturday Mix, 17 August 2024
I could sit here in my rocker, making another stitch to embroider, creating a well sewn piece of art, almost by rote, thus my mind starts a contemplation. Earlier I read a survey stating a quote that should be taken to that small room in my house, dropped and flushed. Being old and yes, crotchety especially when it comes to disparaging the military. JD Vance is bad enough just on the surface, relating to women in disgusting ways, remarks with political name calling and serving up Project 2025 ideas, which would take us back a century, but his six month in a non combat zone writing reports may qualify him a veteran but calling down other veterans is a red flag. Lowering himself to be on a ticket with Trump ought to tell you everything about him already, and why did he change his name? He mirrors Trump, speaking over interviewers, not answering direct questions…isn’t that questionable?

PARENTS
Do you ever wonder how a person feels
When shown gratitude for delicious meals,
With fresh bed linens to sleep on at night
When loving hugs set your mind right
A please and thank you will reverberate
Making someone know who you appreciate.

Weekend Writing Prompt #377 – Reverberate

There’s a Sting soccer tournament going on in Denver so the fam is gone for the weekend. My granddaughter is looking stronger than ever this summer. Weights, runs, and PT all help strengthen her body, hips and legs. Of course she’s always a winner in my book😉👏🏻🥰❤️. Most of my day is writing, reading, and mending that quilt🙄. Old fingers resist😄. I’m gathering goodwill/ church items I no longer need or wear, weeding out my cupboards. I don’t wear shirts, really, I’m more of a soft v-neck sweater person. Easy on and off and cotton shirts no longer easy. Here’s a personal story about a shirt…
When I was in physical therapy for my knee replacement I would scooter over to the building which was across the street, and then I was put in a room with a table to sit on. Part of the table folded and collapsed and I fell on the floor. I yelled help and in came this doc I will never forget ☺️. He said let me pick you up and I said, you can’t, I’m too heavy. He said no you’re not and lifted me right up and told me to hang on to him. I did, because of course I couldn’t stand on useless legs. When he pulled me up my head was in his neck and shoulder. I smelled a fresh cotton lineny scent from the light blue Oxford shirt he wore. And he was holding me really close and I thought…(this is embarrassing) but I thought okay, I can just die right here😂.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Aug. 17, 2024

Earth was on its last life. Only a tiny bit of habitable ground was left. The population had literally died down to a very small number. Many people blamed past apathy and chose ignorance over facts about an endemic, climate change and sustainability of the earth as we knew it. Flocking to the sanctuary in the light will only be a temporary fix. Earth’s fate is sealed.
