“I see the problem, Ms. Smith, but I’m afraid I can’t help you. I went down this road a few years ago and all my attempts to find a decent bone in his body was a bust. I’ll give you back the file I accumulated, but I don’t think that will help either.” Ms. Smith took the heavy folder marked “Trump” and left the office.

W3 – Biden?

An empty office where I used to sit

I have been declared unfit

So many things I wish I’d done

I wasn’t the strongest one.

Calamity was not my style

Although some in the later while

I tried. I really did

Some my predecessor’s rid

But not enough, I apologize

I thought I was more wise

I struggled with my defeat

Now the Constitution lays under our feet

Trampled, ripped and sadly seen

You need to fight, try to glean

The valiant order hidden, now revealed

Democracy protectors please work til we’re healed.

W3 Prompt #153: Wea’ve Written Weekly

dVerse Poets

So, what of April in this cold winter clime

Stroll undaunted seeing the smallest buds

Trees fighting the snow showers to peek through and blossom

Only to be frozen in place, dry and dying

Such a disappointing effort, but do we cry,

Harp against Mother Nature for her trickster ways?

No, because in this area of very short springs and summers

We still search for the crocus blade, and celebrate an occasional hardy daffodil.

Before when I used to wonder nervously and brood about my pale skin, feeling inadequate as everyone eyed the warm honey colored bodies on the beach, little did I know at the time, the beginning days of summer they were mostly spray tanned from a far away secreted salon. My goodness, I thought, being happy in the sun could be helped and enjoyed with a little can of paint!

Here are this week’s questions:

  1.  Can you remember your first camera? I never had one. My husband’s first was a “Brownie”.
  2.  Can you remember when you had your first mobile phone? 2012
  3.  Can you remember your first car. If you don’t drive, can you remember your parents car? The car I learned to drive with was a pea green Volkswagen.
  4.  What was your first job as an adult? On my 18th birthday I became an employee of USACRREL

Gratitude: As always I am grateful for my family’s love and support.
