The Writer’s Workshop

“I Feel Good” used to be a song I could hear often and I offer the video below. These days, those three words hardly apply. How can they? Our country in the US is “being attacked from within” – Trump’s own words – who knew he meant himself when he became president? Take a moment of respite:

A summer retreat and music show began. It was clearly a mistake for the older children to bring a large beach ball. Distracted by the ball as it started to curl towards a tree at the beginning of a large grove, small children, told to sit on a blanket, rose up to chase and play with it. For my side, it was a bad choice to bring the ball, causing the small ones to change from sitting on the side watching the show to running into the forest. Most parents realized the trouble and herded the little ones back to safety.

Here are this week’s questions:

Are you prepared for a power cut? Yes, I have plenty of candles and flashlights. A few weeks ago power went out all over our area of Wyoming and it was pitch! 😳about two hours I think.

Do you prefer candles or torches when there is no electricity? I love the word torches because here we call them flashlights☺️. I have plenty of both.

Do you use scented candles or wax melts? Candles.

Do you find a meal by candlelight romantic? Definitely, it hides the food😀

Gratitude: I am grateful for being able to FaceTime with my son who lives far away. And of course always for friends and family.

It was just a handful of dimes, nothing much to deserve even a thank you, but he did say it. Then what the hell was I thinking as a hundred dollar bill floated out of the same pocket holding the dimes, and I didn’t realize it fast enough. No wonder he was thanking me. I suppose others do it faster, grabbing some bill from a street person’s hand, but I seemed to just watch it float into his hand. Kismet.
