Update

On May 1, I was taken to the hospital. I was so weak I thought maybe I was having a stroke. Luckily I was not but my kidneys were failing and I was in very bad shape. It’s amazing how quickly you can turn dehydrated and in dire condition in a couple of days. Naturally all the hullabaloo in the ER and ICU worried my daughter and my family. This is the third time for such a scary episode. I feel so sorry about that. Today I am home and now on oxygen 24/7 which I dislike, but it is necessary for the short term.

I am writing this to warn you about watching your hydration even if you have no chronic disease. Take care of yourselves because this can come on quickly.

I did no writing and this is my first contact with my blogging friends. Send me your challenges as I will try to get back into the writing groove. Thanks for reading.

  1. Here’s your challenge, mate. Get well soon. Don’t make me have to come over there and enforce it. Suck in the oxygen like a good girl and do what your family tell you to do. We are all a little bit of your family too, don’t forget, and we won’t tolerate any misbehaviour. OK….. maybe a little bit of misbehaviour….

So here’s my get well card to you. A bunch of psychic roses is on the way too.

    Cheryl welcome home again
    Keep sucking on that oxygen
Look forward to a moment when
We’ll both be holding hands, and then
We’ll walk down memory lane together
As though our youth might last forever
Believe that we are oh, so clever
At any time, in any weather
For life is full of ups and downs
Fears and tears and grins and frowns
But Cheryl let’s bring in the clowns
    Make silly faces, happy sounds
For now enjoy the time in bed
With books you know you should have read
‘cause after all, when all’s been said
We’re all alive. We could be …..

(I can’t think of a suitable last word that rhymes. But I don’t like last words, anyway, so do as you are told and get well)

  2. I had missed you and wondered if all was OK. Glad to hear you’re home.
We’re due for a scorching bank holiday and following week (33c on Monday in places), so hydration is imperative. Not just for us, but also Maya. She tends not to drink as much as she should, so we are making sure to keep her face and paws cool. Today it was the hose game in the garden rather than running in the field as it’s been so hot……….. 29C. She had fun!
Take care and continue to take on fluids.
