Where does love go?
I think I know personal experience – here I show
The lover that you thought would be
Beside me for a life of glee
That’s only a rhyme, I know for sure
Love with lust is the allure
But that fades, at least with us
Years happen, gets covered in dust
Little things start to annoy
And I think, who is this boy
Is he the one I used to adore?
Or is he the one I ignored
Raising children took my aim
I think I lost him in my game
To be the perfect mother
What a scam
To think I could be that, I am
Embarrassed to my core
I should have tried for more
For him who snuck away in bad health
And the love snuck out with stealth
I realized too late
Now love is gone, it is my fate.
