Offering an ode to red vines
A candy I find that’s sublime
Chewy strings are mostly red
A sweet treat that may have been said
To be a soothing temperance
Frustration gone chewing dance.
—
Now others may see this sweet treat
Too much a threat for children’s teeth
But they may be temper prone
The chewability is known
For solace in that circumstance
Performing a tantrum stance

My husband still loves Twizzlers! Thank goodness he doesn’t have any tantrums if they are out of stock! This was beautifully written, Cheryl. 🌹

Ah yes, the change in attitude over generations, but the stance remains the same when treats withheld, wonderfully told Cheryl.

Kids love candy! We went to the movies the other day, and the kids got a couple boxes of candy. Then they wanted to go back for more. It’s never enough!

Whenever I go shopping with my wife, I always go straight to the candy section in the store. 😁
Despite being English and having eaten candy all my life I’m proud that I have more teeth left than my mum did at this age!
