MLMM – Water

Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about water, so you can share a poem about water, or discuss if you like to go swimming or enjoy going to the beach or a lake, or share if you would rather take a bath or a shower, or discuss the water quality from where you live and if you can drink the tap water, or if you have to buy bottled water, or you can go with anything else that you think would fit.

Water is very important to me since I have kidney disease. I use glass bottles with secure caps and fill with water from the tap and put in my fridge. It’s rare I drink anything but a cup of coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day. I have an open shower with a bench and enjoy a warm shower but have no tub. I can’t get into and out of one. The showering sitting on a bench is not ideal, but necessary. In younger days I loved swimming, waterskiing, and wading in brooks. Today I would love to just sit by a stream and listen to the bubbly water.

Fondness for Water

  1. Sitting by a stream and listening to its bubbly water is a deeply pleasant experience, celebrated for its powerful calming effects on both the mind and body. The appeal comes from a combination of the gentle, constant sounds, the visual aesthetics of the flowing water, and the restorative influence of the natural setting.
