Simply Six Minutes

Laying here on display

Suppose we made someone’s day

Fish deserve a time to play

Without being a fishing lure’s prey

Here we lie

With our dead eyes

When we decide to swim

It’s not just a whim

It’s for survival, food

You see the paradox

You encrued

Using us for your own

Meals you feast on to our bones.

  1. Sort of whimsical and creepy at the same time. The dead eyes…I don’t know why but fish gross me out a bit. The bigs ones at least. I think it is from the time my son gutted a fish in my kitchen and I nearly threw up seeing what was inside that little fishy body!

    1. oh my goodness, when my son cut that fish open I nearly threw up right then and there. It was disgusting. I can’t stand any of that butchering stuff. I love watching Homestead Rescue and that seems like a great idea but I’m not killing animals.

    2. I haven’t heard of that show, but it sounds good I like most rescue programs. I do not care for any of the killing or curing of animals though. And after you watch how a fish is caught and I consider tortured when they throw it back in, I think they’re saving their lives. It doesn’t give you an appetite for sure.

    3. You know I have always wondered about fisherman throwing the fish back. I have heard that they don’t use hooks or something so then how does it catch them? And if you have to take out the hook isn’t that painful? I could probably look it up online but I really don’t want to see it. I’m okay if people want to hunt animals for food but not just for fun.
