MLMM Summer Solstice

***

Summer solstice doesn’t mean much to me in the climate I live in. Yes it is hot today – 90F and that is unusual for us here in Wyoming. Most of the eleven years I’ve lived here there is cold winter and the other three seasons seem to fade together. The growing season is so short you can’t plant till late May or June and then autumn seems to skip right into winter and your plants barely got a chance to bloom. Then of course an occasional rain or hail. But enjoy your lake front picnics and beachy bonfires. Do I sound jealous? Um, well….

  1. Thanks for joining in Cheryl and writing about living in Wyoming, as I have never been there before, but I always thought it would be a peaceful place to live with lots of outdoor activities to enjoy.

  2. 24C (75.2F) here now and it’s almost 11pm. We are supposed to have rain and thunderstorms tonight. I took the dog out for her final walk half an hour ago and it was stifling. Poor Maya. She doesn’t know what to do with herself. We are refreshing her water bowls regularly so that the water is chilled, and I have also been wiping her down with a cool flannel . The fan’s going in the bedroom and she’s flaked out on her cushion beside me. Bless.
