For today’s Poetics, I want you all to select ONE of the following three options and write a poem:
I chose #3:

Joe was no genius, she knew from the start
But June loved Joe with her whole heart
It started downhill when she sent him a text
He looked at it, didn’t know what to do next.
He asked a friend to help him write one
That was a mistake, quick as a wink it was done
Whatever was said zoomed through the air
And Joe never knew his friend didn’t care
The text that he wrote was rude and crude
June couldn’t believe the words he spewed
June texted back saying I thought you were sweet
But you’re just like the others with nasty tweets
Joe read her response and had no idea what she meant
He decided to see her to explain what she sent
The moral of the story is, if you don’t know tech’s place
You better stay meeting just face-to-face.

A sad tale. And before texts, there were letters that illiterate people had to ask others to write.
