“In a recent development in the ongoing legal battles surrounding former President Donald Trump, a New York judge has granted him permission to seek dismissal of a criminal case in which he was convicted in May of 34 felony counts involving hush money paid to a porn star. This decision comes in light of Trump’s victory in the Nov. 5 presidential election.” Read more disgusting news here:
You know what this means—as soon as January rolls around and he’s in his office, the SCOTUS presidential immunity hits and he will not be further prosecuted for his many crimes. I guess these “judges” and (I wonder where they purchased their degrees), want to go home early for Christmas, just like congress, who reap tax dollar money while all of these lawsuits just sit there. But you’ll see them on tv, or social media like FB, yelling about the choices Trump hopes to have in offices none are qualified for. Choices from payoffs for supporting his campaign, even opposite minded for the work of the office, such as AJ, Education, Health and Welfare. These appointees oppose what the office stands for. Making up a new organization led by Musk who I must admit did his bit to support Trump, and now he’s being paid off. So what does an ordinary citizen do? While your congress people may say publicly what they think, how about asking them to do something about it? These people are working for us—for the people!
I’m stopping here, getting coffee. I know you’re glad about that!
A topsy turvy country, just like mine.

I would urge you, seriously, to forget it. Stop caring. It doesn’t matter. If they locked Donald Trump up in a steel box for 3000 years would it really make one speck of difference to anything? He is guilty of all sorts of crimes and even his staunchest supporters know that. That’s enough. Let’s not get too excited about revenge.
We need to focus on the disease and not the symptom.
This disease thrives on anger. Don’t feed it.
This disease is nourished by patriotism and flag waving and ‘rights’ and cheering mindless crowds and fear and greed and lust and ego.
I think a bit of serenity and apathy may be the right way to treat it.
Just a thought.

Actually, I don’t have much of a choice. I don’t drive so I can’t go anywhere and raise a flag or anything like that. I only have my voice in what I write. When my family gets together like tomorrow for Thanksgiving dinner we’re all going to be there. We all have different opinions, but my daughter, who is usually the boss in the situation doesn’t allow arguing — it’s just a time for getting together and appreciating each other. And we do. But otherwise I feel like I have to speak up. You have to try. Otherwise, you’re just sitting in your living room feeling miserable. My entire country is going bonkers. I’ve read some stories about your country and yours probably is doing the same. It’s everyone’s own choice what they want to do or try to do. I appreciate your input always.

I just reread your comment. Do you really think that I’m out for revenge. I’m not out for revenge. I’m just trying to speak up for my grandchildren especially my granddaughters. And all the people that are not white Anglo-Saxon protestant.

No, no …. although any sort of criminal penalty has a hint of revenge about it. Not that I have an alternative to suggest.
It just worries me that much of this stuff becomes self-propelling. One side of the argument winds up the other side and before long nobody is making much sense, and even if they are making sense, nobody on the other side is listening anyway.
So to say, “you know what? I couldn’t really give a flying fuck about it all today”, gives everyone a chance to stop and think and maybe get some perspective.
And politicians (Mr Trump, in particular, obviously) thrive on other people’s opinion. Mr Trump would prefer you have a positive opinion about him, rather than a negative one ….. but he’d prefer you to have a negative opinion of him than no opinion at all.
Nothing would hurt him more than to be ignored.
