Satisfy your thirst for seasonal color! Write a haibun that alludes to either Fall foliage or Spring blossoms.
New to haibun? The form consists of one to a few paragraphs of prose—usually written in the present tense—that evoke an experience and are often non-fictional/autobiographical. They may be preceded or followed by one or more haiku—nature-based, using a seasonal image—that complement without directly repeating what the prose stated.

I love autumn colors best but I also enjoy a budding pink tree.

lowly crab apple
now it is your time to shine
lovely pink blossoms
deer venture out from their lairs
to munch upon your beauty

Ha! Very good last line! Reminds me of a Basho haiku, very good.

We had a tree like this in CO and the grandkids made headbands from the blossoms
