No Theme Friday – Frozen Future

No one believed the sun would change
no one watched the weather
now the frozen north’s explained
to every fur and feather.
The fauna knew what was coming
felt it in their bones
surviving in a cold that’s numbing
among the ice and snow.
We can keep repeating
what we knew in the past
but it will be defeating
because this sun won’t last.
