W3 – My Day Starts…

***

Morning begins in the dark now, autumn gray is here

I crawl, then pull myself up til my head is clear

Make sure I’m awake

So no falls I take

And sit in my lovely chair

I mock it daily without care

Wishing I’d walk instead

But that’s old news

You’ve heard my views

Really is nothing to dread

As far as the window, it’s covered with blinds

Only the living room has a view

I say view in a practical sense

A parking lot and sidewalk cement

But my patio has a few

Potted plants I employ

A beauty providing joy

In my remembered thoughts

Autumn splendor to spot

The childhood trees rapport

As I’m wishing for more.
