dVerse Poets Poetics

The Macintosh apple a work of art

As seen when skin and pulp do part

Bright red and green skin so smooth

A cute stem is poised from the root

A taste of sweet flesh from tart surround

Makes this apple so profound

The scent of apple orchard trees

Autumn delight on the breeze

Enjoy the juicy white pulp flavor

A Macintosh apple is meant to savor.

    1. There are gorgeous mountains in some areas and of course Yellowstone National Park, the Tetons, Jackson Hole etc, but mostly prairie surrounding Cheyenne, the capitol, where I live.

  1. Love this especially; “A taste of sweet flesh from tart surround/Makes this apple so profound.” Thank you so much for writing to the prompt 🩷🩷

  2. Another apple fan! I’ve not come across a Macintosh apple, Cheryl, but I would love to after reading your poem. The rhyming couplets work well, and your poem appeals to the senses, especially the ‘bright red and green skin so smooth’, and the ‘sweet flesh from tart surround’.
