I am tasked with repairing an older quilt that my granddaughter made for her brother. Unfortunately, it is made with flannel and some linen type fabric and the seams have come apart and the edges are extremely frayed.
I’m going to have to re-stitch the seams with a whipstitch or a hemstitch or a backstitch and hopefully it will stay together. I’m also trying a lock stitch and my old fingers are complaining but it’s a loving task. But I must say trying to make these seams look neat is a real bitch.😂

I only understand this from listening to my wife ver the years as she sewed/repaired things. I think you chose the right ‘itch’ word. Good luck.
