Hot and humid is what I think

Makes a person turn to drink

Iced tea, coffee or lemonade

Any cold liquid arrayed

Preferably in a glade

Where I sit in the shade

Of a huge big oak tree

Squirrels may throw acorns down at me

Sounds ridiculous, I know

But wide leaved shade makes me forego

Unpleasant thoughts of rascally rodents

I just sit back and enjoy the pleasant

Coolness of the tree and drink

A summer treat, don’t you think?
