“A pirate!” Joey shouted when his mom asked what he wanted to be for Halloween this year. Julie had been one of the parents who fought to continue having parties at school, for elementary age children. She knew there were going to be dissenters when it comes to anything they deemed anti religion, especially Halloween, supposedly Satan’s creation. However, Julie made the costume, decorated their home with jack-o’-lanterns, and took Joey trick or treating.

Ugh. (Not your story, that’s great). It’s a whole lot of annoying these holier than thou with their complaints about books, religion, etc.

It seems that the religious extremists didn’t go away in the 90s.

They’re all here in high numbers…our own library is feeling pressure to ban books—we won’t do it! People in local government offices are elected, school boards etc, are all in the RR category. It’s horrible.

Yes, talking to someone else in the US just now and he was saying it will take some decades to undo this madness.

Yes, and though I live elsewhere, people here are concerned too, he would be a disaster for the whole world. Amazing to even think that, but there it is.
