A tranquil scene in days gone by
Stories told, children sitting, rapt
Grandparent memories, never shy
Wide eyed kids now entrapped
Listening to the old one’s tales
Lifting of the history veiled
From politics to wars he fought
Told the truth, not what was taught
Those days were rare to be found
When truths revealed were profound.

A snapshot from a different time. I remember listening to my grandparents and other elders speaking of a time that seemed centuries away, and how differently they saw the world.
