Pete looked over at the diner window, disappointed to not see Sally Jo sitting in “their” booth. Glancing at his watch, realized he was about fifteen minutes early so found a parking spot to wait. Pete really liked Sally Jo and thought she had what it takes: smarts, looks, and personality. The guys referred to her as the whole package. Pete agreed with his friends but would never say such a crass thing to Sally Jo. He respected her deeply and what was said in the boys’ company was just that. He spied a flash of red as her poodle skirt swayed to her steps of white socks in saddle shoes. Her blonde hair was perfect in a cute pageboy style adorned with a red nylon scarf. As soon as Sally Jo saw Pete, she drew a huge smile on her face. Pete hopped out of the car and strode up to her side. Life in the fifties for this couple was just about perfect.
Aww, a cute story

I made this pic with a longing for “simpler times”. Love the way you captured that. Thank you. 🙏
