dVerse Poets – Poetics

For today’s Poetics, I would like you to write in the style of Maggie Smith and incorporate conversational mode of address in your poems. Pour out the first thought, the first thing that comes to mind and let the words take you forward. If you are new to dVerse and/or Poetics, here’s how to join in: Write a poem in response to the challenge. Enter a link directly to your poem and your name by clicking Mr. Linky below.

I thought Vermont had the most beauty, trees and green everywhere,

rolling hills and even mountains to ski, until I landed at the Denver airport

on my way to the Colorado western slope and looked down upon the Rockies,

huge jagged slightly snow covered peaks sitting there even majestically,

suddenly I was alive in my childhood’s books, or a dream sequence,

high and beautiful, spreading north and south, never ending and every pattern and hue of soil stretched like a huge quilt running through to meet them.
