I thought Vermont had the most beauty, trees and green everywhere,
rolling hills and even mountains to ski, until I landed at the Denver airport
on my way to the Colorado western slope and looked down upon the Rockies,
huge jagged slightly snow covered peaks sitting there even majestically,
suddenly I was alive in my childhood’s books, or a dream sequence,
high and beautiful, spreading north and south, never ending and every pattern and hue of soil stretched like a huge quilt running through to meet them.

Beautiful poem, Cheryl! I had the same feeling the first time I saw the Front Range.
