A railroad signal imitates life—should we be on a road or track and ignore a signal or should we be cautious, observe a warning or sign and take the time to stop and think. I’ve done both in my life, being impatient, but learned in later years to be more cautious.
I think a lot of us in our later years learn the value in weighing our choices instead of bounding blindly into the first path we see. Being able to slow down and sit with my thoughts is one of the greatest gifts age has given me.
