I had a great time in Ottawa for about six months! then hitched home with my Canadian Kitten ( he bit a customs inspector ( US) who got too familiar. A wild trip to Boston . Good times!
By necessity several times. He was a great road buddy – especially if we stopped in a bar. He’d walk the counter greeting people, mouse for them, and scarf down as much roast beef as possible. The longest road trips were down from Ottawa, via Montreal to Boston, and years later from coastal Maine, to Boston and the Philly. He never complained and thought it was a great adventure. Especially if we sstopped in a bar.

Takes me back to my last road trip across Canada in 1969 – we made it the VW didn’t – it died in Algonquin Provincial Forest.
