The game right now is girls’ high school basketball. The team is comprised of some less fortunate students and this game is an outlet. The game supplies emotional support as well as self esteem. “Only a game” is not the mantra here in this city. Pride in themselves no matter their personal circumstances is in the game. Next time you choose to attend a game, think about the individuals who against many odds, fight together to win.

The Bag Lady 
Think only of the game, for there is nothing else that exists between the start and the finish. Throw yourself into it as you would a raging river and feel yourself taken by it and let yourself be consumed by it, like water into water. You must play with this game and never against it, for there can be no winner, no loser, there is only the game. Do not listen for the final whistle, do not wait for it – it will wait for you.
And when the game is over there may be another game to follow, but you must play each game as if it were to be your last.
