After a sleepless night this won’t be “tight”
First it was awkward and brief
Just one more my dear, please
Slightly slumped, casual presence
I may need a supplement of the calming kind
Time travel to the past or a future that may not last
Some changes you have no choice
Think fortunate thoughts
Peaceful beasts
It’s in my nature
Hard as stone, never relenting.

Thank you. I think it’s a bit disjointed😄

Cheryl, your poem encapsulates a nuanced journey, and the fluid transitions from sleeplessness to the inevitability of change create a real narrative!

It is rather disjointed but first lines of random poems sometimes seem to fit together okay😊. Thanks for reading!

For me, this part “I may need a supplement of the calming kind
Time travel to the past or a future that may not last” can so easily translate to daydreaming, as a respite. I enjoyed it!
