The child looked at the paper that flew by, then it landed at his feet. It had a word on the front he didn’t recognize. He turned it over and couldn’t make out the big word on the other side. It began with a j ‘cause he knew his alphabet, mostly. There was a drawing above the word. It was a lady holding a scale. He knew what that was because mommy used it when she was picking his favorite apples and they could only get three.
