We as a nation

Land of milk and honey

Dripping with smug attitude

Turning into something construed

By rich and white and selfishly crude

What happened to the statue’s promise

Or life and liberty and happiness

Can we ever return to love of man

If any nation will and can

We must return to that land.

  4. It would be great if all countries could have a look at themselves with an honest lens and see what they have become. Somehow we seem more driven to control instead of as you so aptly put life, liberty and happiness. 🙂
