And yet Republicans continue to push for removing any and all restrictions on the purchase of guns or licenses to use them. They are even are pushing to allow both open carry and concealed carry without registering the weapons or requiring licenses. But when people die daily from gun violence and mass shootings in this country, their solution is to offer thoughts and prayers.
Agreed. People are getting crazier all the time. It’s like the pandemic restrictions have made them so angry they just go off the deep end. Open carry and no license is here in WY but you need a license to go fishing- 🙄😳🤪
I wonder a lot if people in the US (not all the people, to be sure) realise that the citizens of almost every other country on the planet view the US gun laws and the power of the NRA as not just unwise, but utterly insane. I no longer upset myself by reading about these incidents but I am sure that somewhere, someone in a position of power has put forward, yet again, an idiotic suggestion that such incidents could be lessened if MORE people had guns.
There are no winners in all of this, of course, and everyone is a loser.

It is frightening – you never know what anyone is going to do with the open carry law here in Wyoming

Yes, but the power is really with the people – we must refuse to be bought.

I suppose that is part of the illusion of freedom in a capitalist society – where money equates to power and ‘freedom’ can be bought and sold.

Always has been and always will be in any society. In my opinion.
