I chose this. It seemed like the best decision for both of us, but now as I watch the shoreline disappear, my heart is full of sadness. Maybe it would have worked, being away for long periods of time, but I just couldn’t take the chance. It’s the life I chose before we met.

Cloudless everyday
You fall upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
