
Gigi assembled her planners, her calendars, her pens, pouches, and post-its before her on the desk and stood over them like a general surveying maps. It hadn’t been easy, the transition from office building to working at home. No matter how she liked being able to relax in comfy clothing and make her own schedule, she missed the interaction.
Part of her job was helping new employees adjust to their surroundings, and now she had to accomplish that task for herself. Bright posters, green plants, and a small fridge added to the atmosphere she wanted to get used to.
She turned on the two computer screens, saw everything worked correctly, and began her day.

I was already self-employed so there wasn’t any adjustment for me. Honestly, having to have a camera focused on me and my inevitably cluttered work area sounds like hell, though.
