Subtraction

Funny how the time passes

You hardly notice it

Once you’ve let go of certain things

Life happens and the subtraction begins

Early on you are minus parents

Then children

Then husband

Then life as you knew it

How ever many years it takes

You accept and move on

Until you subtract yourself.
