“So what exactly is your type, Charlie?”The strepitous bar atmosphere made the two men hunch together over their green beer. Familiar thoughts ran through their heads as a buxom young woman dressed as a Leprechaun, hustled by the two fifty year old men.
“You know me, Jack, love em and leave em, my policy. I have no plans of settling down with a family, too many hassles!”
“Well you know the old platitude, it will happen when you least expect it.”
“What? Changing my mind?”
“No, falling in love, love at first sight even. Just roll with it when it does.”
Then Jack took out a paperback wrapped in a plastic bag in his briefcase and handed it to Charlie. “Here ya go. Read this.”
Jack looked at the title, “How to Meet Wealthy Single Women”. “Really, Charlie?” Jack rubbed at a tuft of his long hair. “Is this like the last one you gave me, “Men are from Mars?”
“Nah, but it’s worth looking at. You’re not getting any younger”, laughing, putting his arm around his friend. “And look at this!” Charlie pulled out his phone and moved the cursor to show a dating app he used.
“Oh, gawd, Charlie, give it up will you?”
