He stood looking at his shadow, contemplating who he was, standing there. What did he see, why wasn’t he satisfied with his life? The bridge put him above the ordinary man below, but he felt a pull to join him. He edged closer to the rail, asking himself, what was so special about him, up here?
He stared at the grey man below him, knowing, thinking that is who he is, really. Nothing special, nothing colorful in his appearance, nothing remarkable or notable, but still. . .
He gripped the rail fiercely, trying not to step over. Nothing to lose if he did take that step. There was no one around to see. Maybe he should join his shadow, or maybe he was the shadow, the image no one saw but him.
