The celebration was over, the sun shone on what is left from the night before. Bedraggled pennants stretching low and only a few remnants of the coronation parade remain. Every shop, storefront and cafe had outdone themselves in preparation for the royal event.
The tenement stairs were crowded with the lowly, envying the richness that briefly passed by that evening. Carriages of wealthy repute never stopped along the way to imagine a life of the disadvantaged.
