Personal crap

I try not to let the everyday crap drive me nuts😄.  I was picked up yesterday to shop for produce at the King Soopers store.  We had one a half mile away in Lakewood, CO and I miss going there.

I purchased a small container of mustard potato salad from the deli, and sheepherder’s bread which is only available there, an old favorite. And plums, cabbage, baking potatoes, sweet and white, raspberries, blueberries, plums, sweet onion, celery and a nice fresh salmon steak.
I had to use one of those motorized carts.  Ugh!  I know you hate them, resent those of us who block the aisle, run you down, overturn displays and generally ruin your shopping trip, but sometimes we have no choice. This cart kept jerking and stopping dead.  Embarrassing and one of those crap type things I mentioned earlier. My own scooter has to be partially disassembled to fit in cars, but is so much nicer to use.

The grocery clerk told me I wasn’t sitting right on the cart and that’s why it kept jerking and stopping. That’s after I was stuck in line at the checkout — to the consternation of the people behind me🤬🙄. I guess it didn’t occur to her I can’t feel my butt and that’s why sitting “correctly” never occurred to me. She said I have to have my butt way back in the seat, which being a person with short legs is not easy. Who knew?

All in all a nice day and a larder full of delicious produce. We had a laugh or three about the cart. I think some people do not realize they are a necessity at times and just because you look perfectly healthy when not in your wheelchair, you may not be able to walk. I hate those carts as much as you do, believe me. They are slow, not easy to navigate and most people grab their kids in fright when they see you coming! Nah, just kidding, although it has been done.😎Maybe it’s me and not the conveyance!🙄😂

  1. I think you should take this as a massive compliment because you obviously haven’t got a big arse (spoken in English ) because if you had it would have touched the back. I now have the vision of you sat like a meerkat scooting up and down the isles wearing your funky leggings 🙀😉

  2. I went to wally world today to get my hair cut…had to take a motorized cart just to get into the store….thank goodness for lazy people who leave them outside. Had the guy at the front return check line (you know the dude I am talking about..only job is to check a receipt)…..say to me “you dont look handicapped. get off that cart!”. Showed him my heart implant and stent paper which I carry ALWAYS and dressed him down for his attitude. We do what we have to, Cheryl………get out there on your shopping day and run over anyone who objects to your cart use!

  3. Sorry you had to deal with that. I don’t have a negative opinion about motorized cart users ~ they’ve never been rude to me or inconvenienced me. I do resent parents who refuse to control their kids. I know how it is ~ I had two kids two years apart in age. I taught them how to behave in public. It can be done.

  4. Expect you already know..? Like Amazon, all the grocery stores here, do a a shop on line, then use a designated parking space for pick-up. Then you would not have to use those abominations.. One time when at my Wallies job, someone used the wheelchair, then kept going… they did eventually track it down. Cheers Jamie
