I’m a dragon tried and true
I’m hiking this mountain to be with you
My wings are useless in my old age
But my heart beat’s still keeping pace
Finding love is the gift I caught
When you offered me that apricot.
Life is not always as I’d dreamed
Like climbing this mountain
Hoping no one sees
My dragonish ways now rather lean
But coming to you makes me keen
I’m almost there, I can see the peak
It’s you there waiting, the one I seek
A dragon’s life is not all enchantment
If love likely, you’d also search the planet
To experience, live it once again
And not have to think it “might have been”.
