“Oh, Randolph, don’t be a stick in the mud! You can see this sight before us, can you not?” Marguerite was referring to the bleak landscape surrounding their ancestral home. “Quite depressing don’t you think, my dear? Oh, do say we can go! Please, Randy? Pretty please?”Marguerite offered her most coquettish smile while looking up from her long lashes into Randolph’s eyes.
Randolph could never resist that look, as he reassured the love of his life with a passionate kiss. Later, in the twilight atmosphere, Marguerite rewarded Randolph with his favorite dessert, strawberries and cream, served au naturel. “Oh, Marguerite, my favorite” he moaned, as she applied the treat.
