It started out while watching a series on Netflix–not the phrase, but my laughing at it. No matter how serious the premise, I cant help but laugh. The phrase is “leave us“.
Did anyone ever say that in real life? I suppose a most common thought would be yes, by royalty. Now it seems everyone says it!

Here are more overused, and yes, I do it myself, phrases:
Is that all you got
Don’t go in there
I was born ready
Are you sitting down
Maybe you should sit down
Cover me
Make my day
I’ll be back
Let’s split up
What’s the worst that could happen
I’ve got a bad feeling about this
You’re not going to like this
Easy way or the hard way
(My personal pet peeve: ” love means never having to say you’re sorry”. Didn’t like the movie, the actors or the story.)

What are your favorite or pet peeve phrases?

That is so woke – I get it but it doesn’t work that well and it hasn’t taken off over here anyway, so frustrating to use it.

I confess to overusing “I have a bad feeling about this” and “oh my goodness gracious me” 🙂

No, but I’ve watched others similar. I heard “The Crown” is good.

I did like the movie and the actors but I never went along with “love means never having to say you’re sorry.” An apology is always necessary, imo, when you do something wrong. Were you watching “The Crown? with the “leave us?” I’ve just watched to the current end of season and I love it.
