Some things about aging, may cause a gasp
Wishing you had Cleo’s basket of asp
Hands lose the ability to grasp
To undo that favorite necklace clasp
Open an old trunk’s hasp
Or much of anything with class.

Arthritic/fumbly fingers start to rasp
On your mind as you lose that grasp
Not on reality, but the opposite
Knowing you can no longer “handle” it
Whatever it be, it irritates me
Holding something just to watch it flee.
