1. In a way, I don’t mind these words. Hard to hear at times, but I’d rather someone be candid than be fake.

3. And: “I’m just being honest.” “To tell you the truth…” “To be honest with you,” I hear these statements and other variations almost daily in my line of work, almost always said with a perfectly straight face while telling a totally demonstrable lie. Grr…..
