Sidewalk closed

Well that’s just dandy

Crossing the street isn’t handy

Traffic’s quick and need I mention

Wheelchairs get no attention

Everyone just hurries along

Makes me wonder if we belong

Elderly and handicapped

Slow, not steady on your map

We need time to cross you know

It must be irritating when we’re slow

But each one of us has the right

To cross the street at the light

If the sidewalk can’t be used

An accident might ensue

Or hurrying might cause a fall

Even when traffic starts to crawl

Please be patient with us all.
