The concert was sweet and dinner was nice
Being with family should have sufficed
But always the lingering thought emerges
Her mind is with him, her thinking submerges
Into a sea of worrisome things
And she starts again, wondering
If he’s safe, is he well, did he read the letter?
They both decided that this way was better
To wait, to forego the impulse of passion
At the time it seemed wiser to ration
Their dreams, to see if feelings would lessen
Now she is mourning this concession.

And the dawn comes sneaking up when it thinks I’m not looking
I am starting to grieve, man, I used to know but now I believe, man
They tell me sleep is a gas and if I want to lay down
But I’m sorry I woke you, I mean I’ve got the no sleep blues ~ Incredible String Band

Cool, I’ll have to look up the band. I’ve heard of them, but not listened to them recently.

That’s fine. They were an English band from 1960’s. I just like the lyrics from this song. Cheers Jamie

Okay … yes. Their music was a lot different from the mop tops at the time. They produced three really fine albums; then slowly started losing their way with the music buyers. The really bad disco and glam-rock bands took the scene. Yet they set the stage for The Strawbs. Fairport Convention et al. The British do have that deep well of European folk music to draw upon. While N. America has a much smaller time reference of that. I like the Milk Carton Kids, for a modern day acoustic duo.
You can find most of the Incedible String Band stuff on utube. Even the mid 2000’s comeback tour. Cheers Jamie
