I turned up the heat,
A new guest to meet.
A job for me, sort of a plea.
Would you sit with my friend
She asked, being polite
Sure, I thought ahead with delight.
His name is Lion, she remarked.
What is this I’m about to embark?
A big shedding dog? Or a baby hog?
I hope not a cat. Please, not that.
Can I bring him by? I’ll be there soon.
Don’t worry, he’s quiet, won’t take much room.
I wondered what animal should I wish
And in she came with a bowl and a fish.
After setting him up on the shelf with a light
We watched a movie for the rest of the night.
