SO WHEN’S YOUR BIRTHDAY? For today’s prompt I’d like you to go to the website https://mybirthdayhits.com and plug in your birthday. There’s a spot in the upper right-hand corner of the site for you to enter your birthdate.

“To each his own”
A phrase we all should embrace
Not matter what color your face
Set a perfect tone
Live the phrase
And feel it’s praise.

YAY! I LOVE this and you’ve used the phrase “To each his own” so very well here. Would that all people in today’s world could hear the message of your poem.
Later on tonight, I’ll delete your first post. THANK YOU for writing this one! 🙂

Hi Cheryl,
So nice to see you here….but I think perhaps I didn’t explain the prompt well enough.
Choosing your birthday, let’s pretend it was August 7th, 1952…..look on the website I cited and it will show you all the #1 hits for August 7th, from 1952 until 2021. So you can scroll down the list of #1 hits on August 7th, for 1952, 53, 54, 56,….78, 79….95, 96 etc…and choose at least one of the song titles given. You can choose more than one. Then write a poem about any subject, any form, that includes the words of the song title you’ve chosen. So there should be a poem here (about any topic you choose), that includes the title of at least one song that was in this list of #1 hits on August 7th….or whenever your birthday is.
You’ve simply listed some songs here and said why they resonate with you. If these songs To Each His Own, Smoke Smoke Smoke Smoke That Cigarette, and House of the Rising Sun were #1 hits on the day your were born (in whatever year they were popular), you’d then need to write a poem about any subject you choose, that includes those words (to each his own, house of the rising sun, etc)….or maybe just choose one and include those words in your poem.
Hope that makes sense? Perhaps if you look at the poem I posted for the prompt, the first poem on Mr. Linky, it’ll be more clear.
I think I need to go in and edit the prompt….I think quite a number of folks are having trouble with it. My fault.
