Never appearing a bit aloof
Joe piled his loot on the roof
Ignoring his neighbor’s look of resentment
While trying to protect his investment
As he kneeled on the carpet tied up in a roll
Said, “it’s not my fault–flood’s coming over the knoll!”
The neighbor sighed, returned to his rooms
Hard rain began and the thunder boomed.
Joe and his stuff were safe under canvas
While the neighbor paced, fretting and anxious.

I can understand this poem as floods are often here. Great use of all the prompts. Thanks for joining in ๐ ๐

Just because you don’t understand someone else’s decision, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a reason for it. Great poem.
